Practice management software costs more than that. What’s the catch?
There’s no catch. Our mission is to make vets more successful and over-charging you for software doesn’t fit very well in this mission. We sell a number of value-added services, but it’s completely up to you whether you use these or not.
You’re saying we can cancel at any time?
Yes. Liberating, huh?
Is my data secure? Is it a risk migrating my data to the cloud?
Yes, your data is secure. It will reside in some of the world’s most secure data centres and will be managed by our team of highly trained experts. Nothing is ever completely risk-free, but your data will be a lot safer in our data centre than on a server sitting in your office.
I run a busy practice, how long will it take to set up and migrate to Panacea?
Panacea is so easy to use that you’ll be amazed at how quickly you will be up and running.
If you’re migrating to Panacea from an existing system, then we will work with you to get a copy of the data from your current system. While our technicians are expertly importing this into Panacea, we will provide remote training to you and your staff. On-site training is available, if required, but so far none of our customers have needed it – one or two remote training sessions is all they’ve needed.
We’ll make your Panacea environment available to you so you can check that your data has imported correctly then, once you’re happy, we’ll do one last synchronisation with your legacy system and you’re away!
What do you import from my legacy system?
This does depend on what system you are migrating to Panacea from, but generally we’ll import
We do recommend starting with a fresh product list so we don’t end up importing a large number of discontinued products into Panacea. This also gives you the chance to clean up product entries and pricing.
Why does Panacea need access to my legacy system to do a data migration?
We need a copy of your legacy database so we can import this data into Panacea. The easiest way for us to do this is for us to access your server remotely using our remote control software. If you’d prefer, we can simply instruct your IT service provider on exporting a copy of your database and sending it to us.
What if I have multiple clinics or even multiple entities?
No problem. Panacea supports as may legal entities (i.e. companies) and as many clinics per entity as you like. All clinics share common client, patient, user and product databases.
Will I need to replace my existing hardware?
Not in most cases. Panacea is 100% web-based, meaning you only need a web browser (we support Google Chrome and Safari) and an Internet connection to use it. In most cases you can continue using whatever hardware you already have. As an added bonus, you can get rid of your old server and forget about having to back it up and manage it.
What if I want to use browsers other than Google Chrome or Safari?
No problem, although some features may not work 100% and we only provide technical support to customers using Google Chrome or Safari. We only support these two browsers because we prefer to focus on features over supporting the numerous web browsers on the market. Besides, Chrome runs on just about anything, so by supporting Chrome we support just about any computing platform you’re likely to use.
What countries can I use Panacea in?
Panacea supports all major currencies and all time zones. You can use it anywhere in the world as long as you can access it via the Internet. Please note that it is up to you to determine wheher the use of Panacea complies with all of the relevant regulations in your country.
What accounting systems does Panacea integrate with?
Panacea offers full integration with Xero, the leading small business accounting system. This integration automates the transfer of information between Panacea and Xero, saving you hours per week!
Our ability to adapt and grow with the Vet Industry is critical, so here at Panacea, we are continually looking for how we can develop our software. We are currently looking into Lab Integrations including Index.
Sounds great, but where do I start?
Start by talking to us. We’re always happy to provide advice. We also recommend checking out our support site, which includes a wealth of information about migrating to and using Panacea.
For getting started, nothing beats signing up for a free 30 day trial and just giving it a go. Try it free for a month, get as much free product support as you need and get to know Panacea yourself.
What if I need to extend my trial?
If you need longer than a month then we’ll gladly extend your free trial under most circumstances. Please email us to let us know.
What do I do with my old system?
You could set fire to it and dance around singing ‘ding dong the witch is dead’, but we suggest a somewhat more conservative approach. We recommend hanging on to your old system in case you find there’s data that you need to copy off of it in future. Most leagcy systems have ‘perpetual’ software licences, meaning you own the software and you can keep it installed wthout paying anything more for it.
For most customers your legacy system will be sitting on a dusty old server somewhere (usually in your office) and you could just turn this off, but there’s always a chance that it won’t turn on again if you need it later. We recommend creating what’s called a ‘virtual machine’ copy of your old server – this lets you create one or more backups of your server and let’s you run these on just about anything – even a desktop PC.
If this sounds confusing then please contact Panacea support and we’d be happy to provide free advice on keeping your old system around. For a small fee our team will even help you create virtual copies of your legacy servers..
But my current PMS is free. Should I still switch?
In some regions, suppliers provide vets with ‘free’ PMS software in return for an exclusive supply relationship.
The problem? This software is anything but free!
If this applies to you, then your supplier is giving you a PMS in lieu of the discounts that they’d otherwise need to give you to keep your business – discounts that are worth more than the value of the software. They often have access to your data and you’re locked in to buying from them regardless of how much they charge or how poor their service is. Worst of all, the software is (in our experience) always mediocre and it doesn’t make you more successful.
If your software is ‘free’ then it’s very likely that someone else (probably your supplier) is benefiting from it much more than you. So yes, you should consider switching.
